Our September event activities will begin with the lecture by David Basulto the founder and CEO of the most visited architecture website in the world “ArchDaily”.
Architect David Basulto graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2006. He is Founder & CEO of ArchDaily, “the world’s most visited architecture website;” published globally in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. ArchDaily’s mission is “to improve the quality of life of the 3 billion people who live in cities in the next 40 years, by providing inspiration, knowledge, and tools to the architects who fill face this challenge.” He has served on juries for several awards, and design competitions in Latin America, North America, Europe, and Asia. He is a member of the Mies Crown Hall America Prize International Advisory Council, housed in Chicago. He is recognized as an Endeavor Entrepreneur from the Endeavor Foundation in New York, and received the National Award of Innovation from the Chilean Government in 2012. Basulto served as curator of the Nordic Countries Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.
The Value of Architecture in the Internet Age
ArchDaily is an evolving project of the Internet – an experiment in archiving, disseminating discourse and sharing content related to architecture and urbanism on a scale that was not possible as little as two decades ago. Since its founding in 2008, it has operated based a single mission: to bring knowledge, inspiration and tools to the people who are, and will be, designing the urban centers, which will accommodate our planet’s (exponentially rising) population. Most importantly, ArchDaily is continually connecting people from around the developed and developing world by building a platform to ensure that important discussions are available to the widest possible global audience.
In this context of the global hyper-urbanization, ArchDaily operates as a start-up, applying a scalable mind-set to its mission. in his presentation, founder and director, David Basulto will talk about how to build an architecture start-up, the meaning of globalization, identity, consciousness, and the necessary redefinition of the architect’s role.
The lecture will be held on the 12th of July at the Kosovo National Library starting from 8.00 PM.

Aktivitetet e muajit Shtator do fillojnë me ligjeratën e David Basulto, themeluesit dhe CEO’s së webfaqës më të klikur të arkitekturës në botë “ArchDaily”.
David Basulto diplomoi në Universiteti Católica de Chile në vitin 2006. Është themeluesi dhe CEO i ArchDaily, “faqja më e vizituar e arkitekturës në botë”, botuar në mbarë botën në gjuhen angleze, spanjolle, portugeze dhe kineze. Misioni i ArchDaily është “të përmirësojë cilësinë e jetës së 3 miliardë njerëzve që do jetojnë në qytete në 40 vitet e ardhshme, duke u dhënë inspirim, njohuri dhe mjete arkitektëve që plotësojnë këtë sfidë.” David ka qenë pjesë e jurisë së disa çmimeve, dhe konkurseve të projektimit në Amerikën Latine, Amerikën e Veriut, Evropë dhe Azi dhe është anëtar i këshillit ndërkombëtar për Çmimin Amerikan “Mies Crown Hall”, në Çikago. David njihet si “Endevor Entrepreneur” nga Fondacioni Endeavour në Nju Jork dhe mori Çmimin Kombëtar të Inovacionit nga Qeveria Kiliane në vitin 2012. David Bazulto shërbeu si kurator i Pavijonit të shteteve Nordike në Bienalen e Arkitekturës së Venedikut të 2016-ës.
Vlera e Arkitekturës në Epokën e Internetit
ArchDaily është një projekt online në zhvillim- një eksperiment mbi arkivimin, shpërndarjen e diskursit dhe lajmeve që lidhen me arkitekturë dhe urbanizëm në një shkallë që nuk ishte e mundur dy dekada më parë. Që nga themelimi i faqës në vitin 2008, ka vepruar bazuar në një mision të vetëm: të sjellë njohuri, frymëzim dhe vegla për njerëzit që krijojnë dhe do krijojnë qendrat urbane, të cilat do të akomodojnë popullsinë e planetit tonë që vazhdimisht po rritet. Më e rëndësishmja, ArchDaily vazhdimisht lidh njerëz nga bota e zhvilluar dhe në zhvillim duke ndërtuar një platformë për të siguruar që diskutimet e rëndësishme janë në dispozicion të publikut më të gjerë të mundshëm botëror.
Në këtë kontekst të hiper-urbanizimit global, ArchDaily vepron si start-up, duke aplikuar një mendje të shkallëzuar në misionin e saj. Në ligjeratën e tij, themeluesi dhe drejtori, David Basulto do të flasë për mënyrën e ndërtimit të një start-up në arkitekturë, kuptimin e globalizimit, identitetin, vetëdijen dhe ridefinimin e nevojshëm të rolit të arkitektit.
Ligjerata do mbahet me 12 Shtator në hapësirat e Bibliotekës Kombëtare të Kosovës duke filluar nga ora 20:00.
